Description: I have for sale a medal that commemorates the 1927 opening of the Holland Tunnel. The Holland Tunnel is a vehicle tunnel under the Hudson River that connects lower Manhattan in New York City to Jersey City, New Jersey. This medal is bronze, it is two inches in diameter and in a high grade circulated condition, see photos. This medal was made by Tiffany & company of New York City. The obverse shows standing female figures of New York and New Jersey holding hands over tunnel opening and each is also holding a shield. Two vehicles can be seen in the tunnel. At the top rim it reads THE HOLLAND TUNNEL. The reverse inside a wreath, reads, TO - COMMEMORATE- THE OPENING OF - THE - HOLLAND- TUNNEL - NOVEMBER 12TH - 1927.
