Description: This unique jewelry box is black lacquer over hardwood. The hingered lid has brass fittings. The top is adorned with carved florals and butterflies that feel like soap stone. It could be jade due to its age. It looks like one piece is missing (see the last picture). Gold scroll work all around each side. Inside is lined with red satin and has a mirror in the inside lid. It has been packed away for decades. There are minor chips on the bottom of the lid rim. And the brass can use some polishing. The mirror does show its age, but it's still reflective. There were no inserts that I was able to find, if there was any when it was new. Please see pictures for measurements.
