orig. 1941 ORANGE BOWL Stamp **Mississippi State Maroons vs. Georgetown Hoyas**

Description: >Offered here is an old and original 1941 7th ANNUAL ORANGE BOWL FESTIVAL unused and vintage sticker-stamp!! Please see both photos, as they are an important part of my description. This scarce vintage football sticker measures approximately 2 1/2" x 2", and features outstanding football graphics! This Orange Bowl festival took place Dec. 30 thru Jan. 2, 1941. Research indicates that the 7th Annual Orange Bowl took place in 1941, featuring the Mississippi State Maroons (Starkville, Mississippi) vs. the Georgetown Hoyas; Mississippi State University later changed their name to the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 1960. The Orange Bowl is held annually in Miami, Florida. M.S.U. beat the Hoyas in this game, 14-7 at Burdine Stadium in Miami. It was the Maroons' 1st bowl win ever. This oddball football memorabilia is guaranteed to be vintage...no repro here! <>Condition: in *Fine Shape* overall, with minimal age/handling faults...nice!!! Most of the stamp's adhesive remains shiny on the reverse, although it does show evidence that the stamp was once mounted in a scrapbook. There are no creases, rips or tears present!
