Description: Original 1923 system map of the Southern Pacific Lines and connections. The image area of the map measures 21 x 39 cm [8" x 15"], on a larger sheet. An arrow points to the Carisso (now commonly spelled Carrizo) Gorge, where a railway from downtown San Diego to the Imperial Valley met up with the Southern Pacific line. It included a 44-mile stretch of track through Mexico, between Tijuana and Tecate. Other details include a handful of national parks in the western states and steamship routes from Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York, Galveston, and New Orleans. Condition: This map is in very good condition, bright and clean, with a vertical center fold, as issued, two filled holes in the upper margin, and no marks or writing. It is blank on the back, with no printing on the reverse side. Please see the scans and feel free to ask any questions. This is an original, authentic 1922 publication, compiled by Rand McNally and dated inside the lower margin. It is not a reproduction or modern reprint, and it is fully guaranteed to be genuine.
