Original 1958 Home Before Dark Turkish Movie Poster preserved on Linen! Colorful

Description: This is an original 1958 vintage theatrical Turkish Movie Poster for the film Home Before Dark. The poster has been archivally preserved and “linen-backed”, is in very good condition, and displays wonderfully, quite vibrant and colorful. This poster was originally folded but laid flat for a long time and was then linen-backed. Prior to linen-backing the poster had no rips, tears, or damage besides minor fold and border wear. To preserve the poster, it received a deacidification treatment prior to linen backing. It also had minor restoration of fold line color loss. Linen-Backing: This is a paper preservation method commonly used for movie posters and other paper items by preservationists, conservationists and restorers at museums and elsewhere. It generally consists of using an alkaline buffered acid free wheat starch solution to adhere the poster to an acid-free lining paper and cotton canvas. Besides rendering the poster flat, and hiding any fold lines or wrinkles, linen-backing provides mechanical stability and helps to preserve it from deterioration due to acids used in the paper making process.
