This spectacular image was taken by an American couple on a European trip abroad in 1891 and depicts a rare view of the Ruins of Heidelberg Castle, Germany. Handwritten inscription in reverse side penned in period ink. ‘1891’ inscribed in pencil on reverse side beneath ink inscription. Provenance comes from a southern Vermont area estate. Sepia tone cabinet photo in Excellent condition with only gentle wear and light rippling. Will flatten fine in a frame. Displays brilliantly.
