There were already rumors at the time that The Beatles were thinking of making this their last tour (which turned out to be true). By the summer of 1966, having received death threats in Tokyo, having had a harrowing experience in the Phillipines (escaping with their lives!), and then hearing about Beatles' record burnings in Alabama with more death threats--all that coupled with a desire to stay in the studio to create, The Beatles played live only 6 more times after the Boston venue. Finally, the band that started the British Invasion ended their touring eleven days later at San Francisco's Candlestick Park on August 29th, 1966. In the spirit of the 60's, there were dozens of members of the Kennedy clan who showed up from Hyannis Port for the Suffolk Downs concert. And this had to be one of The Beatles' most unusual venues--a racetrack. The racetrack owner only charged $1000 for The Beatles' use of the venue!
