Description: FEATURES: This very charming, lovely OUTSIDER FOLK ART MURAL, with a beautiful tall blond Angel, fantastic huge wings trailing to the forest floor, watching over two children in a woodland scene, and guiding them along so they don't get lost there. The woods are filled with tall shady trees and beautiful huge flowers blooming, and the children, who look to be twins, are having a great time wandering along, not concerned about anything but the day ahead of them. We loved the Angel, with her beautiful face, long blond wavy hair, and those wings, and we wish we knew more about these scene and what's going on here! And who was the artist, anyhow? This amazing mural, all hand-painted onto burlap canvas, was certainly created by a talented artist, who obviously loved his/her Angels and serene scenes like this, and knew how to capture our imagination with all this! We also don't know where this comes from- is it Mexico or Central America, with their long traditions of stylized, simple, wonderful primitive folk art like this? Or, is it from Eastern Europe, which has a similar history of anonymous artists creating whimsical, quirky art like this in their homes, painting things they love themselves? Just goes to show that certain themes are so universal in the world, and this concept of Angels watching over innocent children, and forest scenes like this, is certainly something found worldwide. In great condition, this length could be either placed on your wall as it is, or framed for a more permanent display. And, we have seen similar textile art, on canvas, once sealed and backed, become stunning folk art floor coverings, similar to the 'oil cloth' floor rugs which have been around for hundreds of years in Europe and also America. This would be an easy, wonderful 'you tube' project for a creative person to jump into, and what a great, unique floor rug would result! And you of course could still put it on your wall anytime, too. We just thought this whole scene was so very charming in its simplicity, and really has such a peaceful, calm vibe about it- who doesn't love having a tall, beautiful Angel in their home watching over them, too? It is the unique things in our homes that can make such a huge difference in our lives, isn't it? And this gorgeous textile creation would be just that, wouldn't it? MEASURES: 64 inches X 29 inches; hand-painted on tan lightweight burlap canvas, with unhemed edges, in excellent condition, ready to display and enjoy today in your home. And equally ready to be re-invented as something else unique, too. Not signed/dated, and locale of origin is not known; found at an estate sale of a non-smoking outsider folk art collector who traveled all over the world, spent a lot of time in Mexico & Central America, and left no paperwork as to where he found most of his treasures. This was rolled up in a spare room with several other similar murals, which we have listed separately in our Ebay store. A great example of an untrained yet very talented artist who loved to paint what he/she loved, and this reflects that joy in this lovely scene, doesn't it?
