An original pen and ink by John Hassall 1868-1948, that was published by Blackie in 1932 as a drawing in The Ugly Duckling (one of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tales). John Hassall is widely considered one of England's most important poster artists and children's book illustrators during the later nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. He opened the New Art School in Kensington, London, and his students included H.M. Bateman and Harry Rountree. Condition:Please see the photos for condition.No tears or creases.
