Description: ORIGINAL WW1 U.S. ARMY M1910 T-Handle FIELD E-TOOL ENTRENCHING SHOVEL with cover. Unknown if cover is original to the shovel. The tool was initially called a shovel and was soon officially designated as an entrenching tool. With the cover hooks. this can be worn on the pistol belt, ammunition belt or on the back of the haversack.Shovel is in good shape with little rust, some paint worn off, but quite usable. No detectable marks. The cover is is in sadder shape with one hole near the center see photo) and considerable wear and hold at where the blade sits. Several severe stains.
