Description: Get M1 For The Roadâ„¢Here at 'Get M1 For The Road', we're big fans of ALL things M1 helmet related! Lately we've found ourselves with too many M1 items and not enough free space, so it's time to thin the herd a bit. Our loss is your gain! Up for grabs - right here, right now, right away - is an M1 shell from the 1940's (WWII Era). Further details are listed below: Intelligence Brief: This shell is solid, but it's seen some action. Aside from the flaws listed below, it's in good shape and there's nothing broken (like the loops/bails or rim). There are no cracks or breaks. It's 'been there', so please look carefully at all of the photos before you even THINK about buying - I don't do refunds. Without further ado, here are all of the particulars:----OPERATIONAL SPECIFICS----SitRep: This one was made by McCord between 1941 and 1945. The heat stamp is, well... hiding. There's a lot of rust in the area where it SHOULD be, but in the last pic, you can barely make out a 0, just above my thumb. The reason that I KNOW it's a WWII McCord is that the bails/loops are nearly touching the rim (they got moved lower and lower with every following run/contract/manufacturer) and the FRONT seam has two oval dimples. Only McCord had those during WWII - Schlueter had round dimples. If you want further explanation of my 'forensic analysis', simply ask. The loops/bails are a little bent, but they SHOULD be nice enough to attach chin straps to. The paint job was done in the 60's (based on the shade of green) and was sand blasted first - therefore, all of the cork texture has been removed and replaced with sand/silica. The biggest flaws are the dent on top, the silver spray paint on the inside ("Why, dude, WHY?"), and the rust spots (all of which you can clearly see in the pics). I can't say for CERTAIN that it saw action in WWII (or Korea... OR Vietnam, for that matter), but it definitely COULD have.FINAL NOTE: I usually have a number of other items listed as well. I WILL put together bundle deals to save you money. Just let me know before buying. Also, I have a few spare (post-WWII) M1 parts, so just ask if you're looking for anything in particular.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please take a look at the pics and item specifics for any other information you may require. If you have any questions or need more pics, just ask - I'm here to help. At times, I DO end some listings early and without notice (if there are no bids or best offers pending). So bid, buy, or make me an offer early - before someone else does.Bundle Deals & Best Offers: In most cases, I CAN offer discounts if you're interested in purchasing more than one of my items. One example may be: buy one item - then get 10-40% off a second one (just let me know before buying/paying). I may also lower the price on certain individual items. I'm here to QUICKLY sell stuff, not to get top dollar. It never hurts to inquire about ANY listing(s), just keep in mind that someone else may buy it up in the time it takes for me to get back to you. So, please feel free to ask, as every polite offer or question will get a response!Payment & Shipping: Payment is expected within a couple of days and our listings are sold AS IS, therefore no refunds will be given. If you have any questions (or want more pics), please ask BEFORE buying. Also, if you have 10 or lower feedback, please contact me before buying. FREE USPS shipping to buyers with a U.S. address in ALL 50 States plus D.C. and our territories (including P.O. boxes) - but NO INTERNATIONAL.
