This listing is for an Otto Link "Tone Master" tenor saxophone mouthpiece. This is an original Tone Master, not the current re-issue. This is the same model that was used by John Coltrane, and countless other jazz giants! It was made in New York in the late 1940's. This one comes in an original #5 tip opening, which measures .085". This mouthpiece is in very good used condition. The facing is perfectly smooth, and original. There are no tooth indentations on the bite plate. The plating is relatively worn, so you might want to consider getting it re-plated. There are some minor scratches/scuffs from normal use on the exterior. This mouthpiece comes with its original ligature. This type of Link ligature is the first of the really good ones. It has a very thin reed plate and the old style thick thumb screw with vertical ridges around the edge of it. The screw is stamped "Otto Link". This ligature is in excellent condition, aside from the worn appearance. There are no cracks, it has not been bent out of shape, and the screw works properly. All pieces have been cleaned/sanitized.
