Description: Our Lady of Guadalupe/St. Juan Diego large two-sided pendant (30x40mm image area — see photo showing size relative to a quarter) with color images mounted beneath sturdy glass cabochons. The front of the pendant is a photographic reproduction of Our Lady of Guadalupe’s miraculous image on Juan Diego’s tilma from 1531. The picture on the back is a representation of St. Juan Diego, and was done by 17th century Mexican painter Miguel Cabrera, who labeled it “Verdadero Retrato” (true portrait). While this claim is questionable at best — the painting was made about 200 years after Juan Diego’s death, and Juan Diego’s features are believed to have been more indigenous — it is nevertheless the oldest known portrait of the saint. Please note: even though the closeups of the pendant show the little dots that make up the image, and also some reflections, when you look at the actual pendant, the images look normal, and actually quite good. Free returns if you are not happy with it. The pendant was hand-assembled in the USA from globally sourced materials, using a non-toxic, non-waterproof adhesive, so please do not wear it in the shower. The metal is nickel-free and lead-free. If you would like a cord with it, please message me when you place the order, and I’ll include a piece of black waxed cord for free that you can use temporarily until you get a chance to find something more permanent to wear with it, like a leather thong or a chain. If you do want a piece of cord, please let me know if you’d like a 2mm (thin, better for women) or 3mm (thick, better for men) diameter piece. Thank you!
