Description: Code of the Woosters by P. G. Wodehouse OVERALL condition: VERY GOOD Published in 1938 by Herbert Jenkins in London. First edition, first printing. In original cloth covered boards Octavo, 312 pages plus ads. The Code of the Wooster is Wodehouse’s third novel to feature Bertie Wooster and his valet, Jeeves. This novel introduces Totleigh Towers and its owner, Sir Watkyn Bassett. Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse, KBE (October 1881 – February 1975) was an English writer and one of the most widely read humorists of the 20th century. His creations include the feather-brained Bertie Wooster and his sagacious valet, Jeeves; the immaculate and loquacious Psmith; Lord Emsworth and the Blandings Castle set; the Oldest Member, with stories about golf; and Mr. Mulliner, with tall tales on subjects ranging from bibulous bishops to megalomaniac movie moguls. Wodehouse was a prolific writer throughout his life, publishing more than ninety books, forty plays, two hundred short stories and other writings between 1902 and 1974. Condition info: The book is in VERY GOOD vintage condition. Some spine lean, some foxing to boards, edges and first few and last few leaves. Colorful, unfaded boards (which is nice as it is normally quite sunned). Some darkening of the endpaper opposite each pastedown. A few nicked top edges, in the last quartile of the book. Please view pictures as they are an important part of the condition description and book information.
