Description: Pablo Picasso, "L'Homme" and "La Femme" (Man and Woman) Brass Statues both inscribed Picasso on front & on the side numbered 56/175. These were hand crafted by Picasso himself in 1970. Both are 12 in hi x 6 in wide x 3.75 in deep. Theee is some oxidation on the brass as to be expected with age. No cracks or deep scratches. Gorgeous patina on the figures! These are the original edition and not to be confused with the set that followed that have a "I" engraved in front number which came later (which stands for international edition). The sets we see today for sale for a fraction of the price were done posthumously and were not done by the hand of Picasso. They were made in 1992 and have been plated with gold to distinguish them from the originals. An earlier edition {slightly different} was done in 1965 in Terra Cotta in an edition of 1 of 50.
