Description: Offering a pair of classic chinoiserie Transferware plates made in the early 19th century. Both plates have a molded scalloped edge with a small raised dot design. The center of the plates shows a scene with temples, junk ship, palm trees and two figures. The border contains potted peony, palm trees, weeping willows, and exotic flowers it also has a cell design on its outermost edge. The plates measure approximately 7 inches in diameter and sits on a 3.5 foot. The underside has both an impressed “x” mark and a printed pattern name in blue under the glaze. The pair are attractive for display and their rich color and pattern will draw attention from all who see them. The item(s) are antique and sold as is. They may show wear, fading, scratches, chips, cracks, original imperfections and/or damage from normal use. I note on one plate some areas where the glaze did not adhere, the most significant instance captured in photos. On the other plate, there are flakes to the surface, also captured in photos. Examine photos carefully as they are part of the description. Imperfections were factored into pricing. No returns or refunds.
