Pair Important Henri Ardant Limoges Greek Revival Porcelain Large Vases Ca.1870

Description: This exceptional pair of Greek Revival porcelain vases carry undglaze impressed marks HA & Cie for Henri Ardant of Limoges, and feature gilded and polychrome glazed decorations, classical handles with applied bisque rams masks.Colorful painted decorations depicting Euterpe (one of the Muses in Greek mythology, presiding over music) and Polymnie (muse of Rhetoric). The other features Clio (muse of history) and Urania (muse of astronomy). Each measures 17" tall and 10" wide. Each weigh about 6 pounds.They date from the third quarter of the nineteenth century and are in good condition. We note a tiny nick to the base of one, see 11th. photo. Several of the tips of rams horns have slight losses. We see no restorations, the gilt is superb.Nicer in person, these are museum quality.Shipping: Domestic shipping: I ship products using USPS & UPS. I do not charge a handling charge.
