Description: This is lovely pair of Nyonya Baba Satin Bridal Slippers from Penang, Malaysia. These delicate gently used rigid slippers were purchased by my father in the early 1970's in Penang, Malaysia during the period he owned an Antique Shop in Batu Ferringhi. As an avid collector of Chinese textiles he purchased a number of embroideries / slippers from local Antique Shops that primarily specialized in Peranakan and / or local Chinese items. I would estimate the slippers date to after the early 1920's. Condition Description: The slippers are in Good condition overall. There is some clearly noticeable wear to the top & side blue borders as well as to the front tip of each slipper. The areas of lost satin pink fabric on the sides of the slippers are clearly illustrated by the attached pictures.
