Description: Pair of Antique Silver Plate Wine ServersOur Mother always debated whether it was correct or not to bring bottles of wine to the table & to pour from them. When she grew up, the wine was always strained & decanted in the kitchen, & then brought to the table in a crystal carafe. However, as times changed, guests were more eager to know about the wine that was being served, & so creative ways were introduced to set the actual bottle of wine on the table. Here are two lovely antique wine bottle servers done in silver plate that enclose & allow the host to pour from the wine bottle, leaving label, origin, year, type of wine, etc. visible. They also serve as a stand for a bottle of wine as well. We include 2 holder/stands – one from England & one from Italy. The English & Italian holder are approximately 9 inches in length. They easily open & firmly close to encase a bottle of wine. We have placed them at the head of our table, giving our host & then our server easy access to serve our guests.
