Description: Pair of Staffordshire Pearlware Cupid In Disguise Merchant Figurines Circa 1800 Pair of early British Staffordshire pearlware figurines of Cupid in Disguise as a man and woman merchant with baskets of meat and vegetables. Painted in polychrome pratt colors on square bases. Unmarked. Likely circa 1800. The right hand of the female figurine has been repaired, she has two chips to the front of her hat, and she has been broken off at her ankles and put back together. The head of the male figurine has been broken off and reattached. There are several large chips to his hat that have been repaired. His right wring has been repaired and the object in his hand has been broken and glued. He also has a crack through his face and a few small chips to the edge of the base. Each figurine measures approximately 2 1/4 inches wide x 6 1/2 inches tall. These are antiques and may have small in manufacture defects that do not affect the display of the pieces. AU CX
