Description: Here are two (2) vintage plates from Royal Staffordshire's "The Biarritz" line: Art deco lines and tulips in black, blue and silver on cream background. Each rectangular plate measures approximately 9 by 7.5 inches and has an inset round depression. These plates were designed by Clarice Cliff in the 1930s.The blue paint is thicker than the other colors and feels slightly raised in some spots. The silver paint is shinier than photos show, must be held in certain light in order to see metallic sheen.These are used, pre-owned items. Neither are cracked or chipped. Both have crazing lines on the front and back sides, as is typical with ceramic pieces of this age and with use. The corners all show edge wear and have a certain minor rough feel.
