Palestine Mandate rare 2m printed matter rate prepaid postmark on 1943 newspaper

Description: Rare concessionary 2 mils printed matter rate applied to The Union of Religious Writers weekly paper "BaMishor" ('In the Field'), postmarked 26 Jan 1944 from JERUSALEM to TEL AVIV & tied by 2m "postage paid" postmark (Sacher E15 - 4 months after his latest recorded date of 17 Aug 1943). Sent to a "Sh. Ch. Kook" - probably Rabbi Shlomo Kook (1929-1971), a nephew of Rabbi Avraham Yitzhak HaCohen Kook, who also contributed articles to this paper (including this edition) and redirected to his post office box (290). Complete newspaper (8 pages), with light fold at center; in excellent condition; size: 23.05 x 29.6cm. Rare as franked with postage paid postmark. For whatever reason, the mailing of this publication was subsequently charged the 3m rate in 1946, perhaps having lost its authorization for the reduced rate with the General Post Office when re-titled & published without the auspicies of the Union of Religious Writers (see 3rd image). --- Most of our merchandise ships out from Israel | orders are combined | additional items are charged 75c: DOMESTIC services available are Registered mail (default) and courier mail.
