Description: This plate is larger, and even more substantial and impressive, than the photos might indicate! It was made of restaurant ware china by Tepco for Al Williams' Papagayo Room located in the Fairmont Hotel in San Francisco. The plate measures approximately 13 1/4 inches in diameter. Any spots in the photos are just camera flash glare. The underside has a mark similar to that shown in the photos. Overall and other than as noted, this plate is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, crazing, etc. There is a scattering of pinpricks in the glaze, although they clearly are something that happened during the manufacturing process and are not glaring or especially noticeable. There is only relatively minor scratching or surface wear -- what little there may be, is the type of thing that's best seen when the plate is held at the right angle in a strong light and isn't readily noticeable under normal conditions.
