After a period of intense persecution and exile he died at the early age of thirty-four. William Costa is a freelance journalist and translator in Asunción, Paraguay. He has written for the Paraguayan and international press on issues relating to the land struggles of Indigenous and campesino communities, the environment, and yerba mate.
