Description: The Patagonia PCU L9 uniform was widely issued in the mid-2010's, somewhat replacing the iconic Crye combat uniforms. Unlike the Cryes, these appear to have been given formal government contract strings, printed right onto the interestingly bland USGI style tag everyone knows and loves. Patagonia already made a name for itself as a premier manufacturer of outdoors clothing, so it was no surprise they eventually picked up contracts for the most demanding users, US Special Forces, certainly a far cry from the office wear they make for those arduous treks into the office car park we see everywhere nowadays. The Patagonia uniforms also feature an interesting matching camo print velcro on exposed surfaces like the arm pocket and cuff adjusters, eeking out every last bit of camouflage value. The PCU system is a scalable clothing system that allows users to prepare for any weather condition simply by mixing and matching different layers. "Level 9" is pretty much equivalent to the standard BDU uniform. The shirt in this listing appears to be in the LARGE size. It was used for some sort of training school as seen by the white patches with the number "88" hand-written on them (very lucky number in Chinese culture; I actually found this around Lunar New Year...). I have seen similar patches on uniforms meant for BUD/S trainees, but it is possible it could be for Army SFAS, among other things. The jacket was modified by having its chest pockets (slanted outwards) were removed. I have seen this modification done to BDU's in the past for divers as well as snipers, since they would be on their stomachs most of the time. Early GWOT gear is getting hard to find, even though it was used in recent living memory. Buy now to own a piece of modern American history!
