Published in 1914, and appears to be an unstated first edition. It has been reprinted, but this is an original. This book belongs in a collection, library, or archive in any of several overlapping categories in addition to U.S. history and biography: women’s studies, suffrage, voting rights, Prohibition, and more. Bonus: Several pencil-written pages of notes etc., many decades old. This seller did not try to read all through, but it is clear that the content is related to the book author’s themes. Abigail Jane (nee Scott) Duniway (1834-1915) was an American women's rights advocate, newspaper editor and writer, and was instrumental in eventually bringing voting rights to women throughout the United States. Her writings include historical accounts and other nonfiction, novels, and poetry; the present book was the last she published, the year before her death. This book is not a “show piece,” but the content is of considerable value in its field. Condition is “acceptable” to “good”: front board is slightly loose, but the binding is solid enough that everything is still securely attached; a few marks in the text, but not bad; some external wear and discoloration.
