Description: This is a commission by the "Smokin' Jays Band" at University of South Dakota in 2003 for a print by artist Paul Roden, who was studying there at the time. These prints are 1-color wood-block prints on handmade rice paper. The blocks were hand carved on wood and the pieces were hand-pressed by the artist into thin, handmade rice paper. Due to the nature of the rice paper, each print has small creases and wrinkle characteristics. Rice paper is very thin and translucent; I've tried to illustrate that in the pictures below by placing 2 different colored backgrounds behind it.This print is signed by the artist and numbered in pencil #13/30.
