Description: Any stand that may be shown in photographs is not included in purchase - it is being used here for display/photography purposes only. An interesting pattern on this Ysart. Complex center cane surrounded by 5 large light blue stardust-type canes interspersed with 5 small dark blue canes. The outer concentric circle shows one of Paul's inventions - the use of latticinio twists as spokes to separate canes. In this case there is gold Aventurine in 6 of the white twists which are separated by two different types of pink canes. With the polished base, I assume this is a later Ysart work. Paul was born into a Spanish glass maker's family in 1904. He apprenticed with his father Salvador in 1922 at John Moncrieff Ltd. Glassworks. It's believed he made his very first paperweight in the early 1930's. After decades of paperweight production at varied work places and training many other, now famous paperweight names, he set up his Harland paperweight production in 1972 and continued to make weights in this Harland period until 1979 when he retired. Weighs: 1 pound 1 ounce and is approximately 3" W X 2.2" H In great condition. No chips, cracks or flea-bites to report. Refer to photos. Typical base wear. Please refer to the photos as well.
