DSI PDO is a sewing thread with the longest period of wound support if compared to other absorbable sutures, with excellent tensile strength. Thanks to a simple hydrolytic mechanism, the absorption of DSI PDO sutures is predictable, with up to 50 days of wound support. Polydioxanone sutures retain about 70% of the initial tensile strength after 2 weeks, 50% of the initial tensile strength after 4 weeks and 25% after 6 weeks of implantation. The suture is fully absorbed within 180 days.DSI PDO is ideal for all the indications where extended wound support of more than 4 weeks is desirable. The needles are made of the highest quality surgical steel alloy. They are created to be as thin as possible without compromising the strength or stability of a needle.The needles penetrate into the tissues and carry the thread through the tissue with minimal trauma. The needles are laser sharpened, rigid with breakability, sterile and corrosion resistant.
