Description: Up for auction is my father's Pearce-Simpson Simba SSB CB base station. He bought it from Englishtown Sporting Goods in NJ in 1974. It was boxed up in 1983 with sticking relays. In 1988 it was taken to a shop in Tucson, Arizona and refurbished to new. In 1993 it was put back into the box when he quit over-the-road driving and sat in a closet until I got it in 2023. The original shipping box from Japan is pretty worn, but the original Simba box is inside. They're a bit stuck together so I haven't tried to take the box out. I opened it up to check for any damage before plugging it in. Clock works perfectly. Using a mobile antenna as a load (I don't CB) I keyed up and checked the frequency and carrier quality and they look good to me. I used contact cleaner on the knobs to get rid of some scratching noise. Included with the unit is:Shipping box/ original boxCatalogTurner power mikeAfterburner Plus Linear Amplifier (untested, I do not know how to use it.)Receive and audio quality are unknown as I have no way to test them.
