Description: In commemoration of the upcoming 60th anniversary on 11/22/2023 of President John F. Kennedy's assassination in Dallas on November 22nd, 1963, we are listing several JFK paper items of possible interest to collectors. This is a large, 22" x 27.5" poster which was printed on heavy paper during the time when John Kennedy was in office. We bought a bunch of these 20 years ago from a political dealer in Missouri who said they were given away to the constituents of a local U.S. Congressman from there, during the JFK Administration. The Fabian Bacharach photo used on this, we believe, is an official Kennedy image and it's on the cover of our "New Frontier" sheet music we just listed, which was published for the 1/20/1961 Inauguration. So, perhaps, that sitting was used for THE Inaugural photo. The 1960 election had pitted democrats Kennedy and Lyndon B. Johnson against republicans Richard M. Nixon and Henry C. Lodge. When the results came in it was so close that it was basically a tie, with JFK at 49.72% to Nixon's 49.55%. Even with all the voting irregularities surrounding the totals across the country, Nixon decided not to challenge the election and conceded the following afternoon. Think how history could have been dramatically changed if Nixon had challenged and then prevailed. No Dallas tragedy, exactly 60 years ago, and also no Watergate. This is in nice condition but please look at our images to judge things for yourself so you can be happy with your purchase.
