Description: Photograph Notes: On the hillside above Cougie - a track along the glen is visible down to the left, with houses and fields at Cougie in the centre distance. This area within the Glen Affric National Nature Reserve, and is regarded as "Plantations on Ancient Woodland Sites" (PAWS). It was a conifer plantation, including Sitka spruce and Lodgepole pine. That was all felled a few years ago, and it is now being restored as native Caledonian forest. A few Sitka are regrowing, these will probably be felled shortly.
