Description: PHYSIQUE PICTORIAL - Vol. X, Number II, August 1960. Vintage beefcake magazine created by the most famous physique photographer: Bob Mizer. Featuring Bob McCune (front cover), John Krivos (back cover), Dick Gilman, Bob Gentry, Forrester Millard (D'Orlac), Ivan Davis, Richard Reagan and Roger T. Kelly between other models. On page 10 Alan Colomb clad with just two sombreros, one in the head and a tiny one in other part of his body... oh, and a serape in one hand. On page 22 Boris Demitroff as a young, hairy nawab or rajah. Covel model Bob McCune was an accomplished athlete who excelled in school in several disciplines, after that he was a hockey player, a bodybuilder and a professional wrestler (Lord Pinkerton). Later in life he would be a reputed book salesman and finally a sports betting writer. Art by Tom of Finland, Lloyd Steel and Ronald Wright. Unused condition with some humid storing & mishandling problems as soiled spots, bumping, darkened areas, reddish-brownish discoloration (especially around spine & edges), worn corners, light fraying on edges, etc. Front cover lower right corner has a big crease. Please see scans. This and some other issues of the Volume XI series have several pages printed in the Duo-Tone technique that mixed black and orange inks resulting in an attractive brown sepia tone. The experiment didn't last much, and numbers of the Volume XII returned to the traditional B&W. Still in very good condition for its age and complete.
