Description: The Pioneer CT-WM77R is a vintage multi-cassette changer with Dolby HX Pro and a dubbing deck. This cassette deck allows for easy playback and recording of multiple tapes, with the Dolby HX Pro providing improved sound quality by reducing noise and distortion during playback. The dubbing deck feature allows for easy duplication of cassette tapes, making it a convenient tool for those who need to make copies of their music or recordings. Ok, here is the story - I have had this unit for quite some time and was using it on a somewhat regular basis. One day, a tape got stuck (deck I, slot #4). I opened it up and removed the tape. For some unknown reason, slot #4 in the tray is now stuck in the extended position. Therefore, the door for the tray will not open and you cannot load tapes. When the unit is turned on, it DOES NOT say Error on the display (see photo of powered up unit). The dubbing deck (deck II) plays tapes just fine. The Fast forward and the forward music search of deck II works but the rewind and rewind music search does not work. Deck II will play in both directions. To play in reverse, you must fast forward side A to the end and then it will automatically switch and play side B. All of these no-longer working functions were working fine prior to the tape getting stuck. I have also noticed at times a high pitched audio noise when the tape (deck II) is playing. Perhaps this is a grounding problem. I do not know. I was obviously unable to return tray slot #4 to its correct position. Perhaps the unit will work just fine after this is corrected. I do not know. To me, it looks like a mechanical problem. Included is a copy of the Pioneer Operating Instructions (all 32 pages) for this unit. The unit is all there (please see the photos) and is actually quite clean inside. The plastic power button (included) has a small green post that broke. This power button can be reinstalled - just super-glue the green post to the power switch. Sorry, no remote control. Please let me know if you have any questions and I will try to do my best to answer them. I was really upset that this unit failed (and that I was not able to repair it) as it had provided many hours of great sounding music. It is loaded with some really cool features as this was an expensive/hi-end unit (in the Pioneer cassette changer line up). I typically used this to play rather than record. The unit is big and somewhat heavy so I will pack it with care. If you are close by, you can pick it up from me directly and avoid paying for shipping. Thanks.
