Place your left hand in the strap, place your right thumb in the thumb strap, index finger on button 3, 2nd. on 4, 3rd. on 5 and little finger on button 6. Keep your fingers on these buttons. Eg: Little finger plays the number 6 button.Place the accordion on your left lap with the bellows just to the left of your thigh. Resting the bellows on the thigh will cause extra wear of the bellows and lessen the control of the instrument. After getting acquainted with holding the accordion you can proceed. NOTE: The scales on outside rows (keys of G and A) of the three row accordions, GCF and ADG, start on the 2nd. button from the top.
