Description: Poetical Works Edmund Spenser 5 Vol Set Leather 1825 Pickering Edition Bentley Text has light tanning, small amount of scattered foxing, a few minor handling marks in Volume I, and darkening to some page edges. In volume i, there are penciled dealer inventory notes on reverse of front free endpaper, and similar at rear. No markup within the text. Text blocks square. Hinges and joints all strong. Endpapers in all volumes bright and beautiful, with some darkening where they rest against the turn-ins. Boards show rubbing at spine edges and ends, light wear to extremities. See particularly the example photos of Volume I, which has the most visible rubs along edge of spine. Odor free. A very solid set.Leather bound with gilt decoration and titling. 6 compartment spines. Gilt ruled turn-ins. Top edges gilt. Marbleized endpapers. Volume I includes the bookplate of George Allison Armour, who was the son of Chicago Board of Trade president George Armour.
