The book is in Good+ condition with tight, intact spine and intact clean, unmarked pages that have some tanning throughout. There is an uncut page in the front of the book as shown in photos. Book has never been wet, but is so tight that it’s dimpled, but still easy to read. Spine ends and corners of book covers have light bumping, rubbing and wear. The covers have areas of toning darkening, especially spine and top edges. The book’s original design has some yellowed edges. See photos. Walter Crawford Kelly, Jr. (1913-1973), commonly known as Walt Kelly, was an American animator and cartoonist, best known for the Pogo comic strip. He began his animation career in 1936 at Walt Disney Studios, contributing to Pinocchio, Fantasia, and Dumbo. In 1941 at age 28, Kelly transferred to work at Dell Comics, where he created Pogo, which became his political and philosophical commentary base. Pogo's take on the 1960 elections begins with Miz Weevil's son Fremont being touted for president. His slogan is "Jes Fine" (really the only 2 words he knows but is as good a slogan as any). It goes downhill from there with Pogo's pals, Albert, Howland Owl, Congersman Frog, Tammany the tiger, Porky, P. T.
