Description: Poland: Commemorative Medal for Polish Pilots in the Battle of Britain. Scarce, heavy bronze table medal, 56 x 59 mm, honoring the Polish pilots that flew in the Battle of Britain. 145 Polish pilots flew in RAF squadrons Nos. 302 and 303; 29 (or 31) were killed in action; Polish pilots were credited with shooting down 203 enemy aircraft. The medal is in better than very fine condition, with what appears to be a thin glue residue on the reverse side; it is possible the medal was once affixed to some other object. The engraver's initial “W” appears on the obverse. Authenticity guaranteed; 14-day return privilege (30 days overseas), excluding postage, provided item is returned in same condition when sold.
