Description: Atmospheric Dutch landscape with two flour mills and a boat lying in the water along the dike. The mills are two octagonal upper porters. This beautiful cloisonne tile measures 10.5 x 21cm and is described under number 14.10 in the Bert Pols catalogue. I’ve tried to make an accurate description but buyers should always look carefully at the pictures as they are part of that description.Very nice for your collection or just on the wall as a piece of art.Please look at my other advertisements. I have over 300 spare tiles and plates !!.The Porceleyne Fles (Royal Delft) is the last surviving earthenware factory from the 17th century in Delft. The factory began producing in 1653 and became quickly one of the most important pottery factory’s in the Netherlands. The world known logo (little bottle be was used for the first time in 1697. In the 18th century it went downhill with the pottery industry due to foreign competitors with newer techniques and better materials. In 1884 my great grandfather Abel Labouchere took over the company and together with Joost Thooft made a few important changes and thus gave the products more durability. With that he laid the foundation for the factory as we know it today. In 1929 my mother was given a little vase as a present. It laid the base for a huge collection of commemorative earthenware (Cloisonné tiles and plates).
