The old legend on verso of the frame (see our image nr. 4) seems to be erroneous - the depicted relatively young gentleman (he appears to be around 25-35 years old) from the 1790s (according to his dress- and hairstyle) cannot be the father of well-known victim of the Grand Terreur, guillotined in 1794 at the age of 37, Joseph-Victor Cortey (see our image nr. 5). But he can very well be the husband of "our" Mlle Rougier - see our web # 44622.
