Description: Roman Imperial antoninianus of Postumus, 259-268 AD, Sear 10996, R.I.C. 89, RSC 377. The obverse shows "IMP. C. POSTUMUS P.F. AVG.", with the radiate bust of Postumus to the right, draped and cuirassed. The reverse shows "VICTORIA AVG.", Victoria advancing left, with captive at her feet. The piece shows good silver, but is from a time when some are identified as billon, or diluted, debased silver. The piece indicated "cleaned" in the listing of item specifics as the surface appears brightened. The obverse shows a strong portrait of Postumus, with good detail in beard, hair, crown, and drapery. The reverse is more lightly struck. This is a genuine original coin, not a copy replica or reproduction.
