Description: Here we have a 1984 Powell Peralta Skull and Snake original skateboard. So rare to find in this condition. Here is the story: Just as Mike McGill was perfecting the 540 McTwist in the summer of 1984 at Swedish summer camp, V.C.J. was working on a new deck graphic for him. Since the "Skull & Bones" theme was proving to be popular, that was the direction chosen for McGill's new deck. Mike's input was to add the snake and lightning bolts since there is an abundance of both in his home state of Florida. McGill's Skull & Snake is truly a classic skateboard icon. THIS IS NOT A REISSUE. The board has a 40 year old patina, but has been on my wall for the last 27 years plus. About me: I grew up skating the pools, ramps and schools all over Santa Monica in the 1970's (1972-1980). The Dogtown crew was a major influence, and I was fortunate to see all of them in action throughout my teenage years. I have sought out skateboards for my collection that had the most impact on me. The provenance and authenticity of my collection is without question.About my collection and other lots on eBay for sale: I am peeling out of some of my 30 year old collection. I spent over seven years in earnest to build this collection, but many of the boards I purchased in my 20's and 30's. I am now approaching 60. None of my decks/ boards have been seen for sale on eBay or any other site for a minimum of 25 years. All of these boards and decks have been on display or storage.
