Description: A set of two Prattware lids with matching dark toned wood frames. 1) depicts the "Chapel Royal Savoy Destroyed by Fire July 7, 1864" A city scape of London with beautiful architecture and blue sky in the background and the church and cemetery in front. 2) depicts "The Cavalier" featuring a gorgeous white horse with a gentleman in his finest saluting a pair of well-dressed ladies with his hat. Both pieces are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and have been professionally framed by Avondale Galleries in Nichols Hills, OK Each measures about 6" x .75" Each has a wire hanger affixed to their backs for hanging. A quick bit of research: Prattware Art Lids were the result of the the firm of F. & R. Pratt of Fenton was run by Felix Edward Pratt (1813-1894) who saw the commercial possibilities of producing multicoloured pot lids and bases as containers for products such as bear's grease, gentleman's relish, food-stuffs and cosmetics including rouge.
