Description: Portrait of Confucius - 12th year of Yongzheng reign of Qing Dynasty (1734) by Prince He Shuoguo This monument was painted and erected in the Forest of Steles when Prince Heshuoguo returned to Tibet from the Dalai Lama in Beijing and passed through Xi'an. There are five characters in seal script on the forehead: "Portrait of the Most Holy Master", and the inscription in regular script on the upper right corner: "Yongzheng Jiayin looks at the sun in September and is painted by Prince He Shuoguo". Below the inscription is a Chinese and Manchu seal "Prince He Shuoguo's Treasure". The picture shows a bust of Confucius, wearing a crown and robe, with his arms folded in front of his abdomen. Thick eyebrows and sharp eyes, looking down slightly. His expression was calm, solemn, and thoughtful. The character lines are concise and summarized, smooth and powerful. The forehead, eyebrows, corners of the eyes and beard are meticulously carved, with both form and spirit, appropriately showing the image of Confucius. Size 45x33 inches
