Description: QUEEN MARY (1936) She was built by John Brown & Co., Clydebank, Glasgow, Scotland for the Cunard Line. She was a 80,774 GT ship with dimensions of 975'x118'. Quadruple Screw, 30 knots, steam turbines, two masts and three funnels. Laid down in Augut 1930. Work was suspended in Dec. 931 due to the depression. Building was resumed in April 1934. Launched, Sept 26, 1934. Maiden voyage from Southampton to New York on May 27, 1936. Passenger accommodations as of 1960: 700 first, 680 cabin, 500 tourist.
