Description: RALPH VOTAPEK, 3 Sheet Poster, Winner of the first Van Cliburn International Piano Competition in Fort Worth, TX in 1962, No Theatre, Tour, 1963. Presented by S. Hurok. Contains a credit for both RCA Victor Records and Steinway pianos. The photo was taken standing on a step ladder, hence the slanted appearance, but the poster is rectangular. Some of the posters have minor tears or short creases in the folds which have been repaired on the back with thin archive tape. Condition is near excellent with minor wear including tears repaired with thin archive tape. 3 Sheet Posters are advertising theatre posters printed on heavy paper and usually come folded in more than one section like old billboards -- hence the name. Commonly displayed in subway stations and most famously in areas like Shubert Alley in Manhattan's Theatre District. This is NOT a reproduction!! CONDITION: I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. Good means just that: desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade. Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders. Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition. IMAGES: I use a digital camera so the entire piece is visible.
