Description: Hey there collectors out there 😁👋 Here’s a piece I collected back in my hippie days in college…I bought as an investment and my dad almost ripped my head off for paying so much for it 😂 But later he realized the rarity and beauty of this very historical picture And helped me design the framing to accent and protect it 😁👌 … SO …if you don’t know about Rance Hood …I suggest that you do a little research…but I’ll give you as much info as I obtained thru the years Rance Hood grew up out in the plains and raised by his maternal grandmother…learning the ways of the plains American Indian traditions etc…so TRUE historical events lead him to paint these in-depth images And I might add …he has a way of bringing YOU RIGHT INTO the painting…and with some backstory of any print …you definitely are submerged INTO the canvas 🥰👌😳😳😳 …this particular one is called the “COUP STICK “ …it tells of the story of when the ELDER is knowing his fate …and so the one that would have the COUP STICK passed down ….they would ride out into the desert and the Grandfather…(or whomever was Chief) would take the Grandson ( or whomever he decides) into the desert to die ☹️…BUT …whatever the case may be (secret to all ) Grandfather would pass on the history and teachings of the past CHIEFS …etc and basically a right to passage …onto the next Chief … The actual COUP STICK has feathers on it …marking the number of PASSED “CHIEFS” This painting has so much DEPTH …on sooooo many levels 🥰🥰🥰 And the background has the shadows of passed CHIEFS 🙏🥰 I’ve cherished it all these years but now I’m ready pass it to a great appreciative FOREVER home 🙏🥰 I definitely will work on the price for any interested people that has the same passion as I do I paid over $500 and another $300 + for the framing Which is very decorative kind of AMERICAN INDIAN theme …with black walnut wood in-laid with some accenting colors 👌 I think we did it justice in the framework …in any case Inbox me any concerns beforehand please With something this delicate…I would absolutely love to make it a local pickup …to avoid shipping mishaps 😳 And I will refund any extra $ after shipping…I put a base ship price as $100 to hopefully cover everything I may need to get it to you safely 👌 …so BID WITH CONFIDENCE 👍 Inbox me 👌 And let’s get this on your wall!
