Hand painted portrait. Most Salt prints I have listed are watercolor, but I believe this is an oil painted photo. Museum quality. Has a Revenue stamp on the back which dates this to the 1864-1866 time period. Hard to find an early photograph with the portrait lady. I love the quality of this primitive photo. The Salt print is in a period frame with original dark finish. Frame is as-is some wear and minor losses. Frame has newer glass, newer matting, and newer thin cardboard backboard. Antique. Over 150 years old. Museum quality painted Civil War Era hand painted portrait. Salt print in good condition with overall toning noticed on back. Fabulously hand painted lady and background.
