Description: This rare 1910s Hungarian “Sphinx" hinged litho cigarette tin, measuring 5” x 5 3/4” x 1 1/2”, is in very good condition with no rust, a couple of very slight creases on the lid edge and some very minor age related paint scratches and chips. Much of the original high gloss finish remains. There are some scratches on the interior lid. The hinge is in excellent condition. This highly attractive beige and gray tin features a detailed image of the Sphinx with two men on camels and the Pyramids in the background The tobacco was manufactured by Royal Hungarian Regie, Budapest, Hungary.
