Description: Art Deco was an international decorative style from 1919 to 1939. Very few true art deco pewter pieces are in existence compared to other period styles of the 1900s, like the popular “art nouveau.” Art deco and the famous Bauhaus school of design (1919-1933) ran parallel in “modern art” for 14 years. It wasn’t until 1968 that “art deco” received its name, being finally recognized for being “le style moderne” of the new century, and the niche art deserving a category of its very own. Condition: Two dings on its left side and two on the bottom rim, minor scratches. Review photos carefully and message with any questions. This pewter carafe is in its original state. It has not been cleaned. Maker’s mark on bottom. Measures 13” high. Visit my listings for antiques and other collectibles. Mailed USPS Priority.
